AYSO National Referee Program

One of the most important parts of the AYSO National Referee Program is the AYSO Referee Certification and Training Program. All AYSO coaches and referees are required to be certified and trained. Referee certification is obtained by completing the AYSO Safe Haven and Referee Certification courses. Referee training is available in several different training courses: 8U Official; Regional Referee; Intermediate Referee; Advanced Referee; and National Referee.

AYSO Referee Certification Program is designed to provide training that will enable volunteer referees to officiate AYSO soccer matches in accordance with the FIFA Laws of the Game and the AYSO National Rules and Regulations to support safe and fair matches for youth players.

Our volunteer referees have the best seat in house– right there on the field with the kids. This is a great way to be involved in the program, even if you have limited availability.  Referees sign up for the matches that works best with their schedule. We will support you with training, a referee uniform, and your very own whistle!
