New Player Clinics

New Player Clinics are held in Jackson Park ahead of the Fall and Spring seasons and offer a chance to learn more about AYSO's program and play a little soccer!  There is no fee to participate.  Please select a date below and sign up in advance:
March 30: New Player Clinic
April 6: New Player Clinic

Season Schedule

The outdoor soccer season consists of two “halves”, Fall and Spring.  The Fall season runs for 8 weeks in September & October.  We return to the same teams for another 8 weeks in April and May.  Pricing is the same for Fall-only, Spring-Only, and Fall+Spring players.

Teams practice on the Midway during the week and games are held on Saturday mornings in Jackson Park (near 63rd St and Lake Shore Drive).

Game times are typically on the hour between 9a and 12p.  Specific team schedules will be posted on the website before the season starts.

When possible, we also offer indoor soccer programs in the winter and week-long camps on the Midway during the summer.

Fees

The outdoor soccer fee is $185 - with a discount for siblings at $175 - plus the $20 National Player Fee.  (Watch for the $25 early-bird discount May-July!)  This registration fee includes 16 games (fall and spring), weekly training sessions, a team uniform, a basic photo package and a trophy or medal at the end of the year.  AYSO registered players are also covered with player insurance.

Registration Process

Registration takes place online and involves setting up or updating an account, completing the parent and player questions, and submitting payment.  Parents should also complete the volunteer application process at this time. AYSO 751 is completely volunteer-run and parents are needed to serve as coaches, referees, practice parents, equipment managers, picture day assistants, etc.

Team Formation

Team assignments are made in August for registered players, and are based on the player's age as of September 1.  AYSO 751 has the following co-ed divisions, where "U" stands for Under: U5, U6, U8, U10, U12, and U14.  Depending on interest, we may also offer all-girls teams in certain age divisions.

AYSO believes in the benefits of “short-sided” play, where roster sizes are adjusted for each age division to less than the standard 11 v 11, until children reach our oldest age division. This allows players to develop skills progressively and get more touches on the ball.

Training Sessions

Team coaches will lead players in weekly training sessions, in addition to the weekly game. The U5 players typically have a training session on Saturday morning for 30 minutes before the 30-minute match, while U6 and older teams practice 1-2 days a week on the Midway Plaisance (59th St) between Woodlawn and Blackstone.  The coach will determine the team's practice schedule based on their own schedule and what will work best for the squad.

Everyone Volunteers

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) brings families together through soccer in nearly 1,000 local leagues.  At the regional level, the program is all volunteer run.  The important adults in our players’ lives contribute to the program as coaches, referees, field set-up assistants or event coordinators.  You and your child will enjoy the sport together.  The national resources provide the training and structure to make your volunteer efforts successful and enjoyable.  We also require adults to complete a volunteer application.  The national headquarters conducts background checks so that all our children can play in a safe environment.
